CSIP - Comprehensive School Improvement Plan 2022-2025

South Nodaway School District

Comprehensive School Improvement Plan

2022-2025

History:

For many years, South Nodaway has been using DESE MSIP reviews to grow, improve, and develop its educational programming.  After a February 2005 MSIP review, the district used DESE reviews and recommendations to guide strategic planning.  It has worked independently, with Northwest Regional Professional Development, and, most recently, an individual consultant to improve planning.  Records indicate plans were Board approved in 2006, 2015, and again in 2022.

Message from the Superintendent:

As a high performing school system, South Nodaway is committed to excellence and the continuous improvement such excellence requires.  Its strategic plan builds on existing strengths while addressing areas for growth.  The plan is a result of transparent dialogue and open-minded discussion among dedicated stakeholders - both internal and external.  It provides a blueprint for district management for the next three years and was developed by a large committee consisting of teachers, students, parents, administrators, community leaders, board members.  To maintain relevance, the plan will be reviewed annually.  It is a living document designed to address challenges and opportunities to produce the best possible outcomes for kids.  The plan is the basis of an internal alignment of all other plans utilized in the district ( assessment, professional development, Title I LEA, etc) for a focused, aligned effort to produce the best possible educational programming and student outcomes.

Process & Monitoring:

Following multiple nights of onsite collaboration, complete with needs assessment, data analysis (statistical, survey, etc), evaluation, and reflection, the committee determined priority needs for the district.  In each of those areas, the committee continued its work to identify SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable,  relevant, time bound) tied to goals of MSIP 6 with specific strategies and action steps for completion.  Leadership determined a funding source and a responsible party for each, along with a monitoring plan/timeline before presenting a plan to the Board of Education for approval.  Following is the result of the committee’s work -  the new Comprehensive School Improvement Plan:
